There should be celebrating in the streets of Charlottesville tonight. The Daily Progress is reporting that UVA Point Guard Sean Singletary will withdraw his name from the NBA Draft and return to school for his Senior Season.
Singletary has already brought so many memorable moments to the UVA faithful, like this one. I can't wait to see what he does for an encore.
This is good news
Though I am not surprised. He went to the draft without an agent, all but assuring us that he never had any real intentions to leave unless he could confidently say he would be drafted high (or at all for that matter). This year's draft is very talented, and by waiting, he can earn himself much bigger bucks with another great season.
This may secure the number 44 in Virginia's rafters.
With Mike Scott on the way...
I think it is possible for U.Va. to return to the NCAA Tournament for a second year in a row. Who would have thought that possible after the disastorous 2004-2005 season?
$$ and Mike Scott are going to be a pretty good duo in the upcoming year.
