Something Smells Fishy

In case you have missed it, Liberal Editorial Boards across the state and the Liberal Bloggers out there smell blood in the water. So, they attempt to devour anyone caught in the vicinity. Thus, we have the latest “scandal of the week.” As all the libs get on the bandwagon, thankfully some are pointing out that something doesn’t smell right.

Scandal? As the Pilot reported on June 9 here and the Roanoke Times on June 12 here, former head of the Department of Game & Inland Fisheries, Dan Hoffler, gave money to Attorney General Bob McDonnell.

”Hoffler had stepped down earlier that year from the game department after he and other officials were accused of waste, cronyism and misuse of state property.”

Publius at the Virginian Federalist does an excellent job summing up the facts here. As does, Jason here and Jim Hoeft at Bearing Drift.

”Mr. Hoffler is being investigated for alleged improper dealings with the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. Upon further analysis, it appears that the accusations of impropriety against the Attorney General are biased and unjustified.”

This is ridiculous! Liberals are screaming because the AG won’t discuss the investigation. Not because he doesn’t want to, but because he is bound BY LAW not to discuss it. In the state of Virginia it is a class 2 misdemeanor to discuss an ongoing criminal investigation.

So, they are upset because the AG took money from Hoffler? Very interesting. Wait a minute…. Who else took money?

How about the guy who oversees the Virginia State Police, Governor Tim Kaine?

Yep.

Kaine took $40,000 from Hoffler.

* $10,000 to Tim Kaine’s inaugural.
* $30,000 to Kaine.

What about the guy who appointed Hoffler to the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, Mark Warner?

Yep.

Governor Warner took over $100,000 from him.

* A nice gift of $11,306 to Mark Warner.
* $104,720 over the past seven years to Warner.

Listen folks, the long and short of this is that liberals are upset that there is an ongoing investigation into a Democratic administration. Maybe they are upset that the investigation is taking longer than they wanted.

Yep…

Smell’s fishy to me.

Let’s stop, take a step back, and then anyone can easily see that this “scandal” is nothing but contrived by the left for politics.
